Full biography
Sophie is an experienced amateur astronomer, an elected Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a member of the British Association of Planetaria, a member of the Institute of Physics, and a STEM ambassador (supporting the space inspirations scheme).
Sophie has engaged in astronomy outreach with over 80,000 people since 2020. She has experience working at observatories, leading stargazing tours, and is involved in the Dark Skies Association. Sophie also operates a mobile planetarium, and delivers science sessions for schools - from primary through to A level.
Sophie also works as a science technician, assisting with the next generation of Dark Matter experiments.
