Full biography
PhD and postdoc research in extragalactic astronomy; galaxy formation and evolution.
Teaching experience at undergraduate level.
Worked in UK Civil Service.
Worked in public engagement in the School of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London.
Taught an introductory course (10 x 2-hour sessions) to adults at the City of Westminster College.
Currently Editorial Consultant to the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), and the International Astronomical Union.
I organise talks and events for the Friends of the Royal Astronomical Society. I prefer to stay within the south-east, within about an hour of London, but I am content to travel further if overnight accommodation is provided. Please note that I am currently only able to accept bookings until the end of September 2025.
