Summary

Peter is an experienced astronomy speaker keen to share his enthusiasm with everyone from beginners to astronomical societies.

Full biography

PhD and postdoc research in extragalactic astronomy; galaxy formation and evolution.

Teaching experience at undergraduate level.

Worked in UK Civil Service.

Worked in public engagement in the School of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London.

Taught an introductory course (10 x 2-hour sessions) to adults at the City of Westminster College.

Currently Editorial Consultant to the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the National Optical-
Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory (NOIRLab), the European Space Agency (ESA/Hubble/Webb), and the International Astronomical Union.

Peter organises talks and events for the Friends of the Royal Astronomical Society. He prefers to stay within the south-east, within about an hour of London, but is content to travel further if overnight accommodation is provided.
