PhD and postdoc research in extragalactic astronomy; galaxy formation and evolution.
Teaching experience at undergraduate level.
Worked in UK Civil Service.
Worked in public engagement in the School of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London.
Taught an introductory course (10 x 2-hour sessions) to adults at the City of Westminster College.
Currently Editorial Consultant to the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), and the International Space Science Institute
I organise talks and events for the Friends of the Royal Astronomical Society. I prefer to stay within the north-east, within about an hour of Wooler, but I am content to travel further if overnight accommodation is provided.
