Summary
I am a keen amateur astronomer who loves sharing my passion for all things space and hopefully enthusing my audiences with a thirst for science knowledge.
Full biography
I have a life long interest in astronomy and having retired from engineering management I now have the time to pursue this interest.
I particularly enjoy both practical sessions and giving presentations to schools, uniformed groups and social groups.
A favourite presentation is "How big is space" which is suitable for KS2 and above (including adults). The Q&A session after this presentation always provokes many interesting questions. The follow on presentation "Where is everyone" is similarly engaging.
As a school governor and STEM ambassador I am fully DBS covered.
Stargazing sessions
Mr Keith Pearson can host stargazing sessions including guided tours of the night skies and observing using telescopes or binoculars.

Lectures
How big is the Universe ?
With thanks to Dr Mark Norris from UCLAN this lecture examines the potential size of the Universe. Starting with a discussion of the Solar system then considering the speed of light and size of the known Universe. The lecture is suitable for both Children (KS2 and Up) as well as adults and the duration and content can be easily adapted to suit the audience. The Q and A session at the end is invariably both challenging and exciting ! "
Where is everyone.
Following on from How big is the Universe, this talk considers the lack of contact with any extra terrestrial intelligence. This is a thought provoking discussion probably more suitable for an adult audience.
